Blow out the Candles
It's really corny. Sometimes, when I think of my sister, Barb, I think of this:

"Sisters, sisters
There were never such devoted sisters,
Never had to have a chaperone, No sir,
I'm there to keep my eye on her
Caring, sharing
Every little thing that we are wearing
When a certain gentleman arrived from Rome
She wore the dress, and I stayed home
All kinds of weather, we stick together
The same in the rain and sun
Two different faces, but in tight places
We think and we act as one
Those who've seen us
Know that not a thing could come between us
Many men have tried to split us up,
but no one can
Lord help the mister
who comes between me and my sister
And Lord help the sister,
who comes between me and my man."

Seriously, I do. I see feather boahs... (Yeah, I'm just a little bit C.O.R.N.Y.)

She was born first, then came two brothers. Then me. Then two more brothers.
I was sandwiched smackdabinthemiddle of four boys!!!
Makes you really appreciate having a sister.
Just the fact that she's not another brother.

She's five years older than me.
She's better at almost every single thing we both do, really.
I'm okay with that, especially since she's, did I mention?
F.I.V.E. years older than me.

This is us, 30 years ago. I was pregnant with Sarah, but didn't know it.
Check out her gorgeous hair. Check out how skinny we both were.

Blessed Beyond Measure & A Chelsea Morning, back then.

This is my all-time favorite photo of her. SheIS a supermom.
If the shirt fits, wear it.

I would have liked to post the photo I have of her walking on the beach, waist-length hair blowing behind her, in a green bikini. She would have paid me to, she looked that good, if I could have found it. As I said, she's better at everything than me, including filing away photos.
It would have made you sorta sick anyway.

This is us a few years ago. With our sweet husbands. Truly, two of the nicest men to walk the planet. They put up with us. They put up with us being sisters.
We're off to see them in October.
It's been over two years, and 5,000 emails since we hugged each other.

This is one of the "every single stitch is perfect" things she made me.
It sums it up between us.

Today's her birthday - send her a cyber/blogging hug for me.
Happy Birthday, big sister.
I love you.
Bev
